Training Season 2007-2008 Our normal training times
are as follows, however, during the off-season a number of 'trials' are
held, you will be invited the necessary trial for your age group and
your ability. These will not be published here, but you will be
instructed by your current team manager of the correct trial to attend.
During this time some normal training sessions will not be run, once
again, you will be instructed by your team manager of which training
session to attend and which training sessions are not running.
During
school holidays Planet Ice usually wish to run extra public skating
sessions and some training sessions have to be adjusted or, in extreme
circumstances, cancelled. We will update the table below to reflect any
differences in training for the coming weeks.
We advise people to bookmark this page to be notified of any changes we make.

We
now have over 13 hours of ice time at the Skydome Arena, this has
enabled us to give each age group and the beginners group an hour of
training a week, instead of groups having to share training sessions.
Training Up A
team coach will issue an invitation via his manager to a specific team
(younger Blaze or Menace, or same age group Menace) for a number of
players to train up. This would normally be a line of three forwards
and two defence. Players should be selected for training up on rotation
so that everyone who wishes to train up gets the opportunity to do so.
The
manager of the invited team will give the names of players proposed for
'training up' to the manager of the team issuing the invitation one
week in advance. The coach who has made the invitation will then
confirm that he accepts the proposed selection, or not, so that players
can have plenty of notice.
The coaches' decision is final. Players' safety should be of prime concern.
(Note: Players normally train up one age group. Girls may also train down one age group at the coaches' discretion.)
