Exercising on the Lemonade Diet
There are different phases that you go through while you are on the lemonade diet, also known as the Master Cleanse. During the initial phase of the diet you could experience being tired, weak or any of the other disturbances described here. During these times take it easy and let your body do the work it needs to do to heal and restore your health.
As your body repairs itself you will begin to feel vibrant, alive and want to be active. It’s during these times that you will want to get out and do something fun and enjoy this new found energy, because you feel great! The question, is it wise to do this?
The answer is yes, if you listen carefully to your body and don’t overdo it. If you begin to feel tired or run down while exercising, it’s time to stop. Don’t try and push through to the end of the exercise routine.
Gentle exercise will help you body during the cleansing process by stimulating your lymphatic system as well as help you burn fat, so enjoy!
Best Type of Workout on the Lemonade Diet
There are basically two different types of exercise. One is called Aerobic and the other is called anaerobic.
Aerobic exercise can be sustained for a relatively long period of time. For instance walking is an aerobic activity, you can continue to do it for, minutes even hours. Lifting heavy weights is an anaerobic activity, after minute or two your body has to stop and recover.
Aerobic activity gets its energy from your fat cells. How the body achieves these different types of workouts is different. When you do an anaerobic workout your body uses glucose for energy. This glucose is stored in your liver and your muscles.
Another reason to avoid anaerobic activity is that the exercise process breaks down your muscles. When your body repairs itself it makes the muscle a little stronger. For your body to do this it needs protein, as well as other nutrients and these are not available to the body on the lemonade diet. Aerobic workout is much gentler and still has the wonderful benefit of burning fat, just exactly what we want to do!
On the days that you feel tired or are experiencing any of the possible symptoms related to the lemonade diet, take it easy and drink plenty of water. Your body is working hard to cleanse and replenish itself, do you can be strong and healthy again. Rest is the best thing you can do during these times.
But when you feel great and are full of energy, go ahead and engage in some fun aerobic activity. Remember to drink lots of water to help keep the energy flowing through your body.
